Knockhatch is a large adventure park based near Hailsham in East Sussex.
They have a multitude of indoor and outdoor activities, farm animals, birds and experiences.
They approached us as their old website was hard to maintain with a restrictive CMS and they felt that it would benefit from a redesign. The old site also didn’t feature any video content and Knockhatch were keen to make the most of the backlog of videos that they had been filming for their social media channels.
Knockhatch already had a great selection of graphical assets which are used across the park and within their printed material.
By following this style and by using many of these with the new website design we ensured that there is consistency at every touch point across the Knockhatch experience.
A defined URL structure and simple breadcrumbs system have enabled the website to be built so that it is incredibly user-friendly.
The main sections of Play Indoors, Play Outdoors and Animals gives visitors a simple way to find out about each area. Every attraction has its own page with a description, rules and a video.
We also placed the menu icon and buy tickets CTA at the bottom of the website on mobile devices to provide an experience more like an app.
Due to the size of the website and its expected traffic we set the site up on its own VPS Hosting with a Content Delivery Network (CDN) serving all of the assets to ensure the site was stable and loaded fast at all times, for all users.
