Why is Good Content so Important?

June 27, 2018

Content is more important than ever. With the new (dare I say it) GDPR regulations coming in to play, you can no longer contact customers via the same channels without their undeniable consent.

So far, all this has meant for so many of us is a massive influx of emails, ironically telling us we will no longer be receiving emails.

Well it has happened and from the 25th May we should be receiving less spam, but what does this mean for marketing? As you may or may not know, email marketing is responsible for the majority of online sales. The issue that now arises is that if you don’t have a customer’s email address it’s going to be a lot harder to get it as you must have their permission to store it and use it.

So, what are you going to do? Digital Marketing is not a fad, it’s essential to a business. Now you cannot easily contact customers by email it going to be one of the key factors in driving new business. You need to make sure you have an online presence and the best way to do this is by using digital marketing.

You have so many outlets you can use as a platform to spread your message, but you need to be aware of how they work and the differences between the way your message is shared on them. Once you understand the platforms, you can alter your content for optimum performance depending on the platform you have chosen.

The most important thing to remember is that you need have good content, potential customers are scrolling through their phones and you need to reach out and grab their attention. Digital channels are cheaper than any other kind of advertising and most businesses will have some kind of digital marketing strategy. You need to make sure you stand out from the crowd with good design, branding and most importantly good content.

If you want to drive traffic to your website (yes, I’m talking about SEO) writing blogs with exciting or relevant content is a great way to engage your audience and generate interest in your services. Giving away free information shows you are willing to help your potential customers without an agenda. If the content is good, customers have already made it to your website and they are much more likely to look at the services you provide.
