Download your Facebook Data (including photos)

We are seeing an increase in hacks on Facebook profiles and one of the most distressing part for many people who are subject to these is losing their photos. The good news is that you can easily download all of your Facebook data (including photos) to save somewhere safe should this ever happen to you.

  1. Select your profile picture at the top right, and choose Settings & privacy.

2. and then Settings.

3. Select Download profile information.

From here pick a format (HTML or JSON), quality (high, medium, or low), and date range from the menus. For example I used, HTMLHigh, and All time so that I could get every photo I had uploaded

You can then probably click “deselect all” and just select the items you want. I went with “posts” and “Stories” and these include the photos and videos I have uploaded

And then at the bottom of he page click “Request a Download”

Once you have done this you will see it greyed out like in the image below

And this is because at the the top of the page you can click “available files” where you will see the data file to download (or it pending)
